RANGELEY — The eighth annual Mountain Holly Days, sponsored by the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce, will be held Friday through Saturday, Dec. 9 to 11, in the villages of Rangeley and Oquossoc.
Participating businesses will offer special discounts, including discounts on gift certificates, promotional items and dining specials. Festivities will include a free marshmallow roast, wine-tasting, refreshments, open houses, area craftsmen fairs, horse-drawn wagon rides and a community Christmas party.
The fourth annual Parade of Trees, sponsored on Saturday, Dec. 10, by the Rangeley Rotary Club, will be held at the Gingerbread House Restaurant in Oquossoc starting at 5 p.m. with the auction beginning at 7.
Early ticket purchases are recommended and are available at the Chamber or from Rotarians. Decorated full-size and table-top trees and wreathes created and donated by local businesses are full of surprises ~ gift certificates, passes and other values. Proceeds will benefit programs of the Rangeley Rotary Club and the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce.
The events end with the 33th annual Walk to Bethlehem sponsored by the Rangeley Friends of the Arts. Those wishing will gather at the Rangeley Inn at 5:30 p.m. to stroll through Rangeley village singing Christmas carols. The Church of the Good Shepherd is the final stop for the community celebration featuring local groups in music and dance performances and ending with a retelling of the Christmas Story. All are invited to a dessert reception following the performances.
