LEWISTON — The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Ramada Inn, for their annual holiday party. A social half hour will be followed by lunch at noon. Musical entertainment, for the party, will be provided by local Lewiston musician and keyboardist Ron Niggle and will include Christmas and holiday favorites. Among the festivities door prizes will be drawn plus 50/50 Pot of Gold.

A brief business meeting will be conducted by Richard St. Amand, president. Included will be a reading of the minutes by Paul Ouellette, current secretary/treasurer. A nomination of Leo Sirois for the position of secretary for the new year will be introduced by St. Amand as new business. Ouellette will continue as treasurer. Installation of all officers will take place in January with Lorraine Noel, NARFE Federation president from Augusta presiding.

The Legislative Committee members, Claire Breton and Roland Metayer, will give an updated report on recent happenings at the federal and state levels and affiliated issues of interest to the NARFE members.

Plans for the meeting were made at a recent board meeting. Attending were Richard St. Amand, Paul Ouellette, Doris Hamel, Claire Breton, Roland Metayer and Martha Robinson.

Members are urged to bring friends, spouses and/or active-retired federal employees to this meeting. New members are especially welcome. NARFE is for active and retired employees, spouses, surviving spouses and former spouses who are legally eligible for a federal or survivor annuity.
