AUBURN — Funeral services commemorating the life of Clarence I. Cole were held Thursday at the United Methodist Church of Auburn with Pastor Richard A Cullen officiating. The organist was Norma Rice Gould and the soloist was Mitch Thomas. During the service, the hymns “How Great Thou Art,” “Hymn of Promise” and “Amazing Grace” were played in Clarence’s honor. Following Pastor Cullen’s benediction, the U.S. Army Honor Detail played “taps” and presented our country’s flag to Clarence’s wife of 71 years, Dorothy in recognition of her husband’s service to our country during World War II. At the conclusion of services at church, all were invited to greet the Cole family with their own personal condolence after which all were then invited to a reception of fellowship in the church hall. Pallbearers were Clayton and Christopher Nowell, Richard Dixon, George McGonigle, James Fyfe and James Hathorne. Burial was privately held at the family plot in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Arrangements by Dillingham & Son Memorial Chapel.
