Overview:  The Hornets are coming off a dream perfect season and a state title. Leavitt lost two starters in Anderson and Randall but still return much of last year’s club.  Newton (17.2 ppg) and Anderson (16 ppg) were both all-conference picks. Jordan is also a returning starter.  The rest of the returnees will have to adjust to larger roles while the newcomers will need to fit into an experienced mix. Leavitt won’t be as potent as last year but could still be a KVAC threat and Western B playoff contender.

Coach’s comment: “We will need to focus and put (last) season behind us and rebuild with the new players we have added to our roster. Some of our returning players will need to adjust to starting roles. We look to play Leavitt style basketball and leave it all out on the court. With a strong nucleus of returning players, we will look to improve as a team every day and hopefully be in a spot to compete in February.” — Coach Tammy Anderson
