Returning players: Seniors — Danny Whitney (5-10 guard), Corey Howard (6-2 forward/center), Drew Wilson (6-1 forward), Devin Vail (5-10 guard); Juniors — Nick Mills (6-2 forward), Michael DelDuca (6-1 forward), Dom Haines (6-1 guard).
Key losses: Daniel Vaughn, T.J. O’Connor, Ben Field, Elek Pew.
Promising newcomer: Sophomore — Nick Conrad (5-8 guard).
Outlook: Telstar improved its win total by seven games in 2010-11, but the season ended in disappointment with a close home loss to Traip in the opening round of the playoffs. Four of the Rebels’ top six players graduated. Whitney, Howard and Haines will be counted on for much of the scoring. Haines, Mills, Wilson and Howard are good, all-around athletes who will crash the boards and overcome Telstar’s lack of height. While the Rebels may start the season under the radar, don’t count them out of the tournament chase.
