Mark Paradis asked that no one vote for or against him based on his medical diagnosis, but simply vote for Lewiston’s best candidate. I’m hopeful his treatment will succeed. I am inspired that he is remaining true to his campaign.

I once helped oppose an initiative that Paradis supported when he was a city councilor. Despite that history, he made a point of reaching out to me this election season. He also reached out to a broad range of constituents.

That gesture demonstrated an act of goodwill and leadership.

Lewiston needs a mayor who remains positive, committed and forward-thinking. It will be a privilege for me to represent Ward 5 on the council, and it would be an even greater privilege to have Mark Paradis seated front and center in the council chambers, conducting a respectful discussion about how we make Lewiston a better place for all.
