AUGUSTA — Maurice L. Fuller, 90, a resident of Jay, died Thursday, Dec. 8, at Maine General Hospital in Augusta, after being transferred from Maine Veterans’ Home.

He was born on March 27, 1921, in Jay, the son of Nelson and Florence (Whynot) Fuller. He attended school in Jay. Maurice served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Maurice was married to Irene Allen from 1944 to 1954, and Louise Dyke from 1955 to 1976, when she passed away. He later met and married his wife, Rita Gagnon Lee.

Maurice worked as a foreman for International Paper Company at the Otis and Androscoggin Mills in Jay, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the International Paper Company Quarter Century Club and the American Legion George Bunton Post No. 10 in Livermore Falls.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Fuller, of Jay; his children, Karen Blais and her husband, Norman, of Ticonderoga, N.Y., Stephen Fuller and his wife, Ellen, of San Ramon, Calif. and Janice Zawaki of Port Charlotte, Fla.; his stepchildren, Kenneth Lee and his wife, Irene, of Vassalboro and Juanita Bouchard and her husband, Ken, of Jay; his sisters, Jenney Hoops of Bradenton, Fla. and Zera Briggs and her husband, William, of Yarmouth; his brothers, Herbert Fuller and his wife, Vivian, of Jay and Zelmon Fuller of Monmouth; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother, Earl Fuller; his stepdaughter, Linda Tilton; and his brother-in-law, Francis Hoops.
