MEXICO — The Region 9 board met in a series of closed-door sessions Wednesday night for a total of 60 minutes. At the end of the final session, no action was taken, and director Brenda Gammon said no action would be taken at a future meeting.

The board met first with Tom Trenholm, the vocational school’s lawyer from the Portland firm of Drummond Woodsum McMahon, then with Trenholm and fire science instructor Craig Wade. The third session was with only Trenholm.

Neither Gammon nor the board would comment on the personnel issue.

In other matters, the board was invited to help serve a Christmas lunch to Region 9 students on Dec. 20 and 21. The vocational school staff and board members began what has become a tradition a couple of years ago.

Nancy Allen, director of adult and community education at Region 9, told the board that she is working on the development of a senior safety program in March.

Planned are sessions for older people with police, fire and ambulance service providers and a local banker, to help seniors become safer is their homes and lives. Allen said each presentation would be followed by a session with a self-defense instructor.
