TRUCKEE, Calif. — Roger G. Laroche, 62, died peacefully at his home, in the presence of his family, on Oct. 27, following a courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 26, 1949, to Gerard and Helene Laroche. An avid skier and fisherman, he also loved sailing, snowshoeing and kayaking.

He attended Husson College, leaving to pursue his true love — skiing — and worked in the ski industry for many years in Maine and California. Most recently he was a pedorthist at Superfeet Worldwide.

He leaves his wife of 35 years, Diane; daughter, Nicole, of Reno, Nev.; son, Michael, of Truckee, Calif.; and brother, Paul and sister, Denise, both of Harpswell.

Roger’s big heart, jolly laugh and infectious sense of humor will always be remembered by those who loved him. He will be missed by many.
