SCARBOROUGH — On Sunday, Dec. 11, Ambrose Berry, 56, died peacefully at home, with his beloved wife Sandra, family members, friends, and pets by his side.

He was born in Farmington on Dec. 14, 1954. He graduated from Falmouth High School in 1973 and Colgate University, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude, in 1977. In 1988, he completed an MBA, marketing concentration, from Bentley College.

For 33 years, he worked in the wood products industry, beginning at Kingfield Wood Products Company as assistant manager and later as director of marketing and finance. In Nov. 1984 he joined the H. A. Stiles Company as a sales representative, and later was promoted to vice president, general manager. On his birthday in 2009, he began Old Saw LLC, a wood products brokerage.

He began as a weekend DJ at WTOS, Skowhegan, and later rekindled his DJ ways at WMPG, with his program called The Listening Post, an eclectic blend of music, with special focus on information, entertainment and education.

Ambrose was a connoisseur of food and wine. An avid Red Sox and Packers fan, he was fortunate to see the Red Sox finally win the World Series, not once, but twice.

An outdoorsman, he enjoyed trout fishing, hunting, foraging for mushrooms, and many hikes.

With his wife of 23 years, Sandra Wyman, he created a peaceful rustic retreat at Pine Point.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his mother, Eleanor Berry; his two brothers, George Jr. and wife, Wendy and William and wife, Lorraine; two sisters, Chris Berry and Melissa Jensen; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, George E. Berry.
