FARMINGTON — With help from Franklin Savings Bank, the “Welcome to Farmington” sign on the Falls Road by the Hippach Field has been replaced.

The old sign was discovered missing Nov. 7. The Farmington Downtown Association was ready to add a message board under the original sign. When signmaker Mike Monahan of SignWorks went to inspect the original sign before making the message board he discovered the sign missing.

Franklin Savings Bank President Peter Judkins, upon hearing of the loss, generously authorized the bank to underwrite the expense of replacing the stolen sign. The Farmington Downtown Association underwrote the new message board.

Both signs are now in place and recognize Historic Downtown Farmington and alert visitors to events taking place.
