HALLOWELL — Sarah Pelletier of Lewiston set a new women’s state record on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the 15th Annual IBC Open, held at Sparetime Recreation.
Pelletier bowled a 792 series during her doubles event with partner Jimmy Clark. Pelletier opened with a 236 game, followed by a 299 and a 257 for her 792 series. The previous record holder was Brenda Hoyt, who bowled a 784 series at Yankee lanes in Portland on April 6, 2003.
Pelletier is a graduate of Lewiston High School and a 2011 graduate of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. While at Lewiston, she led the Blue Devils bowling team to state championship win while also winning the girls’ individual state title.
She was a top member of the Sacred Heart bowling team, leading her team to the No. 8 spot in the national poll her senior season. Pelletier was named to the All-Northeast Conference second team.
