LEWISTON — Sonia Taylor, director of the Jesus Party Pentecostal Kid’s Church, has announced that Christmas festivities will continue every Friday night at 6 p.m. at Jesus Party Headquarters, 291 Bates St., throughout January. These events are open to all children and transportation is provided in some areas of the city.

The leadership at the children’s ministry recognizes that the economy is troubling, the world is in turmoil and what the children need is a little bit more Christmas cheer. The ministry will keep up the Christmas tree and decorations and serve holiday treats all month long. The Jesus Party is grateful to the Pathway Vineyard Church, East Auburn Baptist Church and the United Pentecostal Church for welcoming the children from this ministry with open arms every year for several evenings of memorable holiday plays, concerts, hay rides, cookies and lots of love.

Friday, Jan. 6, will feature a pizza party and animated movie, “Silent Night.” This is a story about two mice who perform before a Queen at Christmas.

On Friday, Jan. 13, there will be an ice cream social and film, “The Little Shepherd,” a playful drama with a message of hope.

On Friday, Jan. 20, special door prizes and holiday candy will be passed out to children in attendance. A movie titled “Joy To The World,” a Christmas story, will be shown.

On Friday, Jan. 27, the adult volunteer staff of the children’s ministry will be recognized for their dedication and hard work over the years. The staff did not receive a Christmas party this year due to a tight budget and a desire to make sure all of the needs of the children were fulfilled. The staff and their young congregation will enjoy a movie, “The Gift,” a wonderful reminder to celebrate the gift of life all year long, and not just at Christmas.
