BUCKFIELD — A local man charged with sexually abusing a boy under age 12 was arrested Wednesday evening.
Gary F. Michaud, 56, of 83 Loring Road, was charged with unlawful sexual contact and criminal threatening.
According to a report by Deputy Brian Landis of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Michaud threatened the boy not to tell anybody. The report said the boy’s mother reported the crime, which he said occurred in September.
At Michaud’s bail hearing on Friday, Assistant District Attorney Richard Beauchesne asked for a $500 cash bail and conditions preventing Michaud from being around boys under 16 years old and from owning firearms or dangerous weapons.
Judge Paul Cote set the bail at $500 or a contract with Maine Pretrial Services. Michaud’s arraignment is set for March 6 in Oxford County Superior Court.
