LEWISTON — Healthy Androscoggin announces that Shanna Rogers has joined the staff as adult and work-site wellness coordinator. In that role, Rogers will coordinate Healthy Androscoggin’s work-site wellness activities and nutrition initiatives. In addition, she will help coordinate the Wellness Council of Androscoggin County and oversee the Work Healthy! Award Program.
The goal of the annual Work Healthy! Award Program is to recognize businesses that create a healthy workplace for their employees. Through this program, Healthy Androscoggin provides technical assistance, education materials, and support to employers who want to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
Rogers will also be providing nutrition education and networking opportunities to food pantries throughout Androscoggin County.
Rogers has extensive background in community networking and health care advocacy. Prior to joining Healthy Androscoggin, she served as resident organizer for the Neighborhood Housing League in Lewiston, chairman of the Policy Council and parent advocate for Androscoggin Head Start and Childcare, and volunteer leader for the Maine People’s Alliance.
