A variety of events in the Western Foothills Regional School District were postponed Wednesday because of rain and ice on roads.

At Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, the annual high school Winter Concert was postponed from Wednesday night to 6 p.m. Thursday at Muskie Auditorium.

Also at Mountain Valley, a scheduled financial aid workshop and seminar for high school seniors was canceled. It will be rescheduled.

At Dirigo High School in Dixfield, a wrestling match scheduled with Mountain Valley was postponed. A new date will be set, Dirigo Principal Michael Poulin said.

A Buckfield Junior-Senior High School girls’ junior varsity basketball game against Spruce Mountain High School was canceled. The game won’t be rescheduled, a spokeswoman at Buckfield said.

Students at the Region 9 School of Applied Technology in Mexico who were to have a holiday lunch served to them by members of the school’s staff will have to wait until Jan. 11.

Basketball games between the Telstar High School girls’ and boys’ teams from Bethel with Carrabec High School in Anson were postponed. Telstar Principal Dan Hart said he didn’t know when a date will be set.
