WILTON — A public memorial service of remembrance for Margaret Mary “Peg” Ploof was held Tuesday from the Wiles Remembrance Center with Rhonda Wiles-Rosell as celebrant. Musician Seth Wegner played a medley of songs on the cello and opened the service with “America, The Beautiful,” one of Peg’s requests. Family friend, Nancy Merrow offered personal reflections about her friendship with Peg; son-in-law, Stephen Davis shared “Peg’s List” and local actor, ‘Tree,’ shared from Thornton Wilder’s play “Our Town.” Following services, all were welcomed at Calzolaio Pasta Co. to continue sharing memories at “Peg’s Happy Hour.” Springtime committal services for she, and her late husband, Gene, will take place at her family’s cottage on Hoyt’s Island, Belgrade Lakes.
