AUBURN — Melvin A. “Mel” Winslow, 85, of River Road, Windham, died Dec. 22, at an Auburn health care facility.
Mel was born Nov. 19, 1926, the son of Arthur and Ruvia (Weymouth) Winslow. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the U.S. Navy during the war.
Mel was a longtime employee of Southworth Machine Co. He was a member of the Presumpscot Lodge of Masons 70, of Windham, and was active for many years in Windham politics.
His wife, Janet (Libby) Winslow predeceased him on Jan. 19, 2009.
Survivors include his two children, Alan Winslow of Phoenix, Ariz., and Sandra Winslow Coffin and her husband, Douglas, of Auburn; one brother, Robert Winslow; two sisters, Dorothy Hutchins and Wavelet Turner; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
