CANTON — Rita L. Estes Rose, 84, a resident of Livermore, died the morning of Christmas, Dec. 25, at Victorian Villa Nursing Home.

She was born July 12, 1927, in Lewiston, the daughter of Forest E. and Adeline (Cooly) Estes. Rita attended school in Turner and was a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn. She made her life as a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. On Sept. 28, 2001, in Turner, she married Hugh Rose.

In her younger years, Rita collected all types of bottles and postcard, she enjoyed fishing, needlepoint, crafts and sipping her black tea. Rita especially loved visiting with her family and all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh Rose of Livermore; three sons, John Jordan and his wife, Gail, Eugene Jordan and his wife, Kathy and Kenneth Jordan and his wife, Marie and her daughter, Beverly Jordan, all of Turner; 14 grandchildren, Michelle, Edward, Julie, Wendy, Jonnie, Chad, Eugene “Tiger,” Travis, Tom, Dillian, Paul, Kenny, Michelle and Christy; 20 great-grandchildren, Erik, Taylor, Colin, Chase, Victoria, Isis, Mea, Devon, Gabriel, Colby, MacKenna, James, Jared, Jamin, Jalique, Issiah, Eddaijia, Jordan, Jakai and Janaiyah; stepchildren, Margarite Jordan, Randy and Linwood Rose, Tracy Shorey and Darcy Radcliff; eight stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Austin.
