FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 20 to approve a $1 million budget to cover the unorganized territory in Franklin County from July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2013.
The budget is $40,702 more than this year’s.
After anticipated revenues of $160,680 are factored in, the tax assessment comes to $839,845.
The budget includes $57,029 for the NorthStar Emergency Medical Services subsidy, which is $7,270 more than the current budget. Fire protection is up by $1,600, to $98,830; reserves are up by $25,000, to $126,500. The increase is due to $25,000 being added to start a reserve for Viles Road in northern Franklin County.
The cemeteries’ budget of $8,609 is an increase of $4,654. Most of that is attributed to $4,500 being added to repair the fence at the Huff Cemetery in Freeman Township.
The snow removal budget of $364,858 shows a decrease of $7,500 from the current budget. The $100,110 waste disposal budget is $7,759 less than this year.
The budget will be sent to the state to be acted on by the Legislature in 2012.
