UNITY — When the great bluesman B.B. King heard Alexis P. Suter sing a few years ago, he was impressed – and said so after her opening set. “It’s a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady,” King said.

On Thursday, Jan. 5, Suter will perform at Unity Centre for the Performing Arts.

Bass/baritone powerhouse Suter and her band began drawing audiences six years ago as regular performers at Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble Sessions in Woodstock, NY.

Fellow band members are drummer Ray Grappone, guitarist Jimmy Bennett, keyboardist Benny Harrison, bassist Peter Bennett and vocalists Vicki Bell and Linda Pino.

Along with other New York blues players, Suter is featured on the cover of the February/March issue of Big City Rhythm and Blues magazine.

Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. concert are $15. Call (207) 948-SHOW or visit unityme.org/theater. Unity Centre is at 42 Depot St.
