LIVERMORE — Murray Hall was glowing with cheers as the Jay-Livermore Falls Seniors met Dec. 19 to celebrate Christmas. There were 40 members present and one guest, Lu Therrien.

James Williams opened the event with a prayer of blessing to all. Chairwoman Shirley Couture read a thank-you note from the Tri-Ministerial Fund for the donation the group made to help those in need of fuel this winter. Marilyn DeSoto, treasurer, was welcomed back after her accident.

A delicious meal with a choice of fish or chicken was prepared and served by Nancy Couture and her helpers.

Santa even found the group at the hall and distributed gifts to all.

Louise Parker, Donna Cook and George Doiron, with the help of a karaoke machine, sang a few Christmas songs, then everyone joined in the fun. A jar full of candy was won by Carmen Moreau for the closest guess to its contents.

The 50/50 was won by Fernande Doiron. Door prizes, donated by Pat Laverdiere, Shirley Couture, Janet Wright, Alice DeMoras and Jean Luciano, were won Carole Redman, Pat Couture, Lorette Chabot, Gail Laverdiere and Fernande Doiron.

A rip-off game followed and everyone went home with a great gift.

The refreshment committee for the next meeting to be held Jan. 9 will be Athanase Couture, Lorette Chabot and Pat Couture.
