PARIS — Mollyockett Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its first 2012 member/guest meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the 1st Congregational Church, Market Square.
The meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. with a fly-tying instructional session. Vises, tools and materials will be available, or attendees can bring their own.
At 7 p.m., the guest speaker, Rod McGarry, will discuss “Fly Fishing: Tough and Tactical or Easy and Innovative?”
The program will get participants thinking about and tinkering with their tackle, tying flies and making their own leaders.
Rod McGarry is a board certified master fly casting instructor and a Registered Maine Guide. He has been on the instructional team at L.L. Bean for the last 12 years.
Two years ago he was given the Harger Award by the Federation of Fly Fishers for his noteworthy contributions to fly fishing through his instruction and education. McGarry shares this honor with luminaries Lefty Kreh and Dave Whitlock.
