SOUTH PARIS — Carole Colby, 73, of Oxford passed away peacefully at Market Square Health Care Center, with many loved ones by her side, on Thursday, Dec. 29.

She was born in Strong on March 18, 1938, the daughter of Howard and Rita Metcalf Lisherness.

She worked at Pioneer Plastics, Robinson’s Manufacturing and Poland Spring Inn. She was a very loving and generous person. She could do anything she set her mind to. Carole was always there for her family and for anyone who needed her.

She is survived by her life partner, Stanley Rowe of Oxford; daughters, Kathy Colby of Norway, Debbie Colby of South Paris, Cindy and husband, Wallace Douglas, of Hebron, Karen Rolfe and Mike Smith of Oxford; sons, Kevin and wife, Bonnie Colby, of Canaan, and Terry Colby and Kathy Geneau of New Gloucester. She is also survived by Stanley’s children, Robert Rowe and Cindy of Poland, Paul Rowe, Craig Rowe and Luanne of Norway, Carmen and Clayton Weeks of Oxford, and Kevin Rowe of Lewiston; as well as 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Rhonda Colby; a son, Randall Colby; her mother and father, Rita and Howard Lisherness; brothers, Nelson, Howard Jr. and Erlon; and sister, Jackie.
