BIDDEFORD — Austin Roy scored with an assist from Jozef Frechette late in regulation, leading the Maine Gladiators bantam travel hockey team to a 3-2 victory over the host Biddeford Breakers.
Biddeford broke out to 1-0 lead before Kyle Morin got the equalizer in the second period, assisted by Griffin Wade. Frechette scored a power-play goal to put the locals up early in the third. Ben Steele and Matt Brooks picked up the assists.
Ridge Servidio made some ncie saves to protect the lead, but Biddeford scored with about two minutes to go. The Gladiators had the last word, however, with Frechette sending in Roy for the game-winner on a breakaway.
Casco Bay downed the Gladiators, 3-1, in an earlier contest at Travis Roy Arena in Yarmouth. Roy scored with an assist from Brooks. Casco Bay scored the tying goal in the second period and two in the third to close in out.
