LISBON — Jenny Libby, long-time resident of Lisbon, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her children and loved ones.

She was the youngest of four, and the last surviving child of Martella Lavigne. She is survived by two children, David Lavigne of Lisbon and Cricket Libby of Orlando, Fla.

A strong, independent woman, Jenny loved passionately and was a true friend to those who really knew her. She did not grieve dying, but looked forward to the next stage of life. She chose the Indian Prayer to express her thoughts about passing.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am now there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand miles winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I did not die.
