FARMINGTON — Della A. Roy, 64, of Kyesland Avenue, Jay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, late Friday evening, Jan. 6, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, where she had been a patient for the past three days.
She was born on June 28, 1947, in Strong, the daughter of Warren and Barbara (Crocker) Lovejoy. Della attended Anson Academy in North Anson.
On Dec. 10, 1973, at the Eaton Memorial Methodist Church in Livermore Falls, she married her husband of 38 years, Gregory J. Roy of Jay. Della devoted her life to her husband and family. She was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and always put others needs before her own. Although Della had battled cancer for the past 11 years, her family said her strength to continue on and be strong for them was remarkable; her love and dedication to them will never be forgotten.
She was a member of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Della enjoyed watching birds, animals, donating to organizations, but especially time spent with her family and grandchildren.
