Free supper

JAY — This month’s free supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Knights of Columbus hall, 148 Main St.

Doors open at noon to socialize and play card games. The menu will be turkey dumplings, ham mac and cheese, scallop potatoes, beef and vegetable soup, bread pudding and drinks.

Blood pressure checks

FARMINGTON — NorthStar EMS and AmeriCorps will offer free blood pressure checks on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 16, at two Farmington locations. Screenings will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon at the United Way offices on Broadway in downtown Farmington, then from 1 to 4 p.m. at Walmart on the Wilton Road.

NorthStar crews are involved in thousands of hours of community service each year. CPR trainings, bicycle safety rodeos, presentations at area schools, mock accident scenes and a presence at fairs, festivals and athletic events are just a few of the ways that NorthStar contributes back to the residents and visitors of the region.

Community breakfast

RANGELEY — The next community breakfast with everyone invited will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Looney Bin on Main Street. There will be a choice of egg on their fabulous biscuits or pancakes.

Anyone with a special dietary need should call in advance so they can try to accommodate your needs. For more information call 864-5333.

Masons supper

WILTON — Following a break over the holidays, the Masons will restart their public suppers on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Hall, 70 Bryant Road. The menu is chicken pie, squash, cranberry jell, rolls and apple crisp with ice cream. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for ages under 12. The meal will benefit the Masonic Building Fund.
