Tea party

NORWAY — A Fancy Nancy Tea Party will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 16, at the children’s room of the Norway Memorial Library. There is no school on Monday so all children are encouraged to register to join the fun. The tea party will feature cookies, punch and tea, as well as Fancy Nancy stories and a flower craft. Children are asked to bring a parent or grandparent to join in the fun.

Inside picnic

PARIS — An inside winter picnic honoring Martin Luther King Jr. will take place at noon Monday, Jan. 16, at the Paris Public Library. Bring a blanket, lunch and drink. All ages welcome.

While dining, picture books that have received the Coretta Scott King Award will be read. The Coretta Scott King Award honors African American illustrators and authors who have contributed outstanding text and illustrations to children’s and young adult books that promote knowledge and understanding of their culture. A brief picture biography of Martin Luther King Jr. will also be read.

A variety of self select activities will be available to do after.

NORWAY – A free supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St.

This is the eighth in a series of free suppers. Whether visiting the Oxford Hills, single or a large family group, all are invited to join for a meal of chili, chowder, mac and cheese, veggies dinner with Bruce’s famous desserts.

Those who are unable to attend the supper are invited by the members and friends of the Second Congregational Church to join for worship services and Sunday fellowship time.

Rabies, micro-chip

NORWAY — There will be a rabies vaccination and micro-chipping clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Norway Fire Station. This event is sponsored by Responsible Pet Care. The cost is $10 for rabies vaccination and $25 for micro-chipping. For more information call 743-8679. The attending veterinarian will be Dr. Suzanne Best.

Soup, chowder fest

OTISFIELD — The second annual Soup & Chowder Fest will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church. Snow date is Jan. 28. This is a free community event.

Everyone is invited. Meal will include delicious homemade soups, chowder, breads and desserts.

Donations are welcome to help support the Church Deacon Fund, which in turn helps the people of the community with food, heat and other needs.

Public supper

PARIS — The Paris Fire Dept. Auxiliary will hold a public supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Paris Fire Department, Western Avenue, South Paris.

Meal includes meatloaf, potato, mac and cheese, veggies, salads, rolls and assorted homemade desserts. For information, call Tammy Wright at 743-5850.

All proceeds will benefit the Paris Fire Department Auxiliary and fire personnel.
