LEWISTON — Jeanne B. Cloutier Gagne, 97, formerly of Schooner Estates Retirement Community, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born Dec. 18, 1914, in Lisbon, the daughter of Leo and Alice Plourde. She was a long-time resident of Lewiston, where she raised eight children with her first husband, Roland Cloutier. She worked at the Bates Mill and later at St. Mary’s Hospital as a nurses’ aide for many years, until her retirement.

She was a lifelong member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and a member of Les Dames de Ste. Anne, the Lewiston Seniors and the Holy Cross Seniors. She enjoyed reading, music, musicals and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going on senior trips.

She is survived by two sons, Normand R. Cloutier of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Richard N. (Susan) Cloutier of Lewiston; four daughters, Rolande Tessier Dalos of Sun City, Ariz., Carmen (Raymond) Belleville of Bath, Diane (John) Farrand of Lewiston and Pauline (Ronald) Guimond of Turner; several nieces and nephews; she was also the proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Roland J. Cloutier and Adelard Gagne; two sons, Donald L. and Marcel E. Cloutier, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Olivier Cloutier; and three sons-in-law, Raymond Belleville, Jean Tessier and Marvin Dalos.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Schooner Retirement Community for the years of care and kindness she received as a resident and the staff on 4 East at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion for their care and comfort.
