Bedbugs: Don’t let ‘em bite…! This presentation is designed by Atlantic Pest Solutions to educate the public on bedbugs and what to do to avoid bringing these pests into your home. Get tips on what to look for, how to travel smart and what to do if you’ve already got them. Thursday, Feb. 16, 6:30- 8:30 p.m. $5.

Cooking with kids: For a parent and child (ages 10 and up). This class is designed for a parent/child pair to learn kitchen safety and is an introduction to cooking and proper food preparation. Learn how to make some simple recipes such as soups, stews and sauces. A food service manager/chef for more than 30 years, instructor Bruce Bartlett has worked at places such as the Atlantic House, Point Sebago and Shawnee Peak. Fridays, Jan. 27 through Feb. 10, 6-8 p.m. $20 per pair.

Couponing: Marissa Bennett is a local coupon clipper who has turned this in to a money-saving hobby and loves to share her tips and techniques. Which stores double coupons? What is “stacking”? What’s the best way to get coupons? Wednesday, Jan. 25, 6-7:30 p.m. $5.

Heating your home: Whether you are using a wood stove, pellet stove or space heater, make sure you are heating your home safely. Get advice on correct installation for your stove, which wood to burn and what to look for or do in the event of a chimney fire. Learn more about carbon dioxide, the best placement for detectors and what to do if the alarm goes off. Bring questions. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 6-7 p.m.  Free, but space is limited so call to register.

Cleaning up your credit: This two-hour class aims to help you have a better understanding of credit. Discussions will center around the basic concepts of credit, strategies for reducing debt, credit reports and credit scores. Offered in conjunction with Women, Work and Community. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 5:30-7:30 p.m. $5.

Hula hooping: Hooping has become the newest fitness trend but can also incorporate healing for the mind, body and soul. Come learn with Hoopnotica certified instructor Carol Turner. Hoops will be provided. Tuesday, Feb. 28 through April 3, 6-7 p.m. $30. No drop-ins.

Starting a business: This introductory three-hour workshop will walk you through the pros and cons of owning your own business. Learn the steps to getting started and the major elements of a business plan. You will also be provided with resources available in the area to help you decide whether self-employment is the right choice for you. Offered in conjunction with Women, Work and Community. Thursday, Feb. 9, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Snow date: Feb. 16. $5.
