Transitions at Bedard integrates the medical needs and comfort of cancer patients with image solutions including post mastectomy products, wigs, skin care and personalized bra fitting with a skilled image consultant. Transitions offers a comfortable, safe and private fitting room, with certified fitters to assist through the entire process

Audrey Pleau serves as a full-time image consultant and is the face of Transitions. A Lewiston-Auburn native, Pleau graduated in 2003 from St. Dominic’s Regional High School. She received her license in Cosmetology in 2005 from Spa Tech Institute, formerly Head Hunters, in Westbrook, Maine. Pleau was previously employed from 2006-2011 with Acapello Salon and Spa in Scarborough, Maine. Pleau is looking forward to building relationships with clients and making them feel comfortable with their new image. Pleau said, “I found this is the best way to utilize my license and skills in cosmetology as well as my bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Illness.”

Pleau personally fits wigs and hairpieces for men, women, and children who are experiencing hair loss of any type, including mild or significant alopecia. The selection includes 100 percent human hair wigs and pieces as well as synthetic products. Transitions carries a line of maintenance products for the care and sanitation of wigs at home and also offers other cleaning services at our facility. Other products include eyebrows and fillers, shampoo, combs, wire racks, spray and deodorizers.

Transitions carries Lindi Skin, a skin care line designed specifically for the needs of patients undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments, but can be used by anyone. It is particularly suitable for those with other medical complications associated with diabetes, rosacea, or sensitive skin.

Clients may book appointments and walk-ins are also welcome. Pleau offers complimentary consultations which include customizing wigs by fitting and styling according to an individual’s needs. With every wig purchase, Pleau will supply a complimentary Styrofoam wig form, wig comb and informational pamphlet.
