LEWISTON — Women, Work, and Community will offer a free eight-week training course on “Creating Your Future in a Changing Economy” from 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Thursdays starting Feb. 6 and ending March 5 at the USM L/A College.
Class dates are Feb. 6, 9, 13, 16, 23 and 27, and March 1 and 5. Snow date will be March 8, if needed.
Preregistration is required.
The 24-hour class will examine work values and interests, identify transferable skills and teach techniques to manage paychecks effectively. The class will explore local projected growth industries and identify the skills, education and/or training needed to launch a new career. Students will create a plan to achieve career goals. Assistance with resume building and job seeking will also be provided.
