While stationed in Germany in the early 1960s, an airman was returning to the base after a night of drinking. He ended up driving his car under the back of a semi. He, of course, died. The military took the demolished car back to the base and displayed it in the middle of the compound.

I still remember that car and it has been about 50 years since I saw it.

My thought is that perhaps the car from the West Paris crash should be displayed on high school campuses throughout the state. That might have an impact on some of the students and make them stop and think about the consequences of their actions.
