LEWISTON — Rev. Douglas and Sonia Taylor from the Jesus Party inner-city children’s ministry are opening up the doors of their chapel for an evening of adult fellowship at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at J. P. headquarters, 291 Bates St., Lewiston.

The Taylors are hosting the first of many adult-oriented events they call “The Happy Hour.” These meetings are typically adult in nature and can be controversial in subject. However the first Happy Hour of 2012 will be light-hearted and whimsical. The Taylors are inviting the community to relive their childhood with them as they present “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

The ministry of the Jesus Party was so busy during the holiday season with events for children that it was not able to offer anything for adults. Now that the holidays have passed, the Taylors hope that people will have a little more room for some Christmas cheer. The evening will be filled with seasonal songs and festive foods.

This event is open to children as long as they are accompanied by an adult and should not be confused with the weekly services for children that the Taylors offer to the community. To RSVP or for more information on upcoming adult happy hours, contact Rev. Douglas Taylor at 786-5568.
