AUBURN — Auburn/Lewiston YMCA Biddy Basketball results:
Junior Division
Hoop Camp 26, Leary & DeTroy 21: Jahlen Coney and Piper Norcross tossed in 10 points apiece to lead a surging Hoop Camp squad to a big win over previously unbeaten Leary&DeTroy. Other scorers for the Campers were Jahvon Coney, Ryan Salk and Richard Thurston with two each. It was a hard-fought and emotional defensive battle in which Hoop Camp leaned heavily on the contributions of Brian Demers, Taylor Depot, Spencer Morrill and Camden Poisson to pull off the upset.
Austin Brown’s game-high 15 points were not enough to overcome the Campers. Ethan Brown and Chantel Ouelette combined for the other six L&D markers. Ethan Bosse, Khadar Heeban, Khalid Heeban, Lauren Jutras and Serena Mower battled to the final horn in a commendable losing effort.
Downeast Financial 40, American Concrete 38: Jayson Taylor erupted for 16 points and Downeast withstood a furious last-minute rally to hold on for a two-point win over American Concrete. Grace Beaudet was next with 12 and Grant Hartley added nine to lead the scoring. Hank Duval added a bucket and Kirsten Main one from the line. Nick Davis, Sofia Hartley, Katelyn Jipson and Sarah Sterling played great two-way games for the winners.
Tyler Morin was impressive once again, directing the offense and pouring in a game-high 19 points. Mohamed Mohamed (seven), Keegan Pelletier (four), Grace Fontaine (four), Patrick Luizzo (two) and Courtney Richard (two) were the other scorers for American. Otis Caron, Nick Hartley and Hunter McQuade led the defense.
Pat’s Pizza 35, Gee & Bee Sporting Goods 22: Pat’s broke open a two-point game at the half with a 12-3 third quarter edge to coast to a win over Gee & Bee. It was an impressive balanced attack for Pat’s, led by Tyler Libby and Dan Nalley with eight points each. Tyler Swanbeck had seven and Devaunte Rembert six. Josh Hamel (four) and Jade Perry (two) completed the scoring for the winners. Oceanna Chamberlain, Josh Kaiser and Julia Milks were other vital contributors.
Caleb Yarnevich led the way for Gee & Bee with 12 points. Ryan Therriault added eight and Giles Paradie chipped in with a bucket. Christian Beliveau, Kathryn Childs, Jonah Crowell, Cameron Winslow, Selina Gauthier and Shane Gauthier added defense and hustle.
Emerson Toyota 40, Platz Associates 26: Short-handed Platz had no answer for Kyle Herald inside, as he bulled his way to 17 points to lead Emerson to victory. Ballhawk Jacob Kyajohnian was next with 10. Alex Thompson (seven), Madison Thistlewaite (four) and Rosalie White (two) rounded out the scoring for Emerson. Olivia DuBois, Storm Jipson, Bobby Tremaine and Jaden Legare solidified the defense.
Platz spread the scoring around. Abdul Mohamed led the way with 10. Emmy Lashua was next with six and Teagan Galway added four. Nathan Farnsworth, Joel Stubbs and David Oken each added a bucket. Julia Masters gave a solid two-way effort for Platz.
Pee Wee Division
CB Bachmann 23, Morrison & Sylvester 19: Bachmann continued their winning ways topping M&S. Dominick Jacobs led the scoring with 10 points. Tyler Jalbert was next with six, closely followed by Hannah Chaput’s five. Mike Chaput added the other bucket for the winners. Jack Hart, Fiona King, Austin Sellinger and Caroline White led the calling-card Bachmann defense.
Ethan Chute’s 13 led all scorers for M&S. Finnegan Thistle, Cooper Watkins and Joey Vallee combined for the other six tallies. Calvin Ames, Tyler Murray, Alex Thistlewaite, Addison Dostie and Simon Hayes crashed the boards and played tough defense.
Hammond Lumber 20, Anthoine Financial Group 13: Max Creaser’s nine points led all scorers as Hammond outlasted Anthoine. Tyson Green added six and Quincy Coachman five to complete the scoring. Michelle Cowie, Brady Cox, Liam Flynn, Cameron Langis, Aiden Hebert and Rylen Schenk helped lock down the opposing offense.
It was ladies’ night for Anthoine, with Jordan Cummings, Lindsay Adams and Ella Perry scoring five, four and three points, respectively. Anson Perry added the final point from the line for the boys. Marshal Adams, Nick Gagne, Olivia Ouelette, Meaza Paradie and Braden Paradie worked hard on both ends of the floor.
Hahnel Bros. 23, Austin Associates 11: Hahnel continued the strong recent play led by a game-high 13 from Steven Parshall to upend Austin. Jacob Jackson added six. Other scorers were Declan Giroux (two), Tristin Blossom (one) and Ben Sirois (one). Trevor Bosse, Luke Josephson, Matt Metivier and Cody Saunders led the defensive charge.
Caleb Davis led Austin with six points. Julia Berube was next with three and Elizabeth Marcotte added two points. Lydia Celani, Jason Brooker, Libby Forgues, Zachery Jawer, Owen Hamel and Chase Martin added hustle and energy.
Sun Journal 22, M&P Used Auto Parts 18: Cayden Childs led all scorers with 15 in a victory over M&P. Devonte Scott added five and Andrea Demers two to round out the scoring. Noah Peck, Wyatt Morse, Jamaine Luizzo and Emily Kramarz added the defensive intensity.
Corey Weirs led M&P with eight points. Justin Bulmer (six) and John Shea (four) were the other scorers. Sam Courtemanche, Aaron Galway, Harrison Gray, Shane Kilby, Josh Murphy and Joey Shea provided the energy and grit.
Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli 26, Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shoppe 16: Emily Piper led all scorers with a season high 10 to push Heidi’s to victory over Sam’s. Ryan Marston and Caroline Hammond each added six points and Ben Poland chipped in with four to complete the scoring. Dylan Bilodeau, Landon Cougle, Cameron Irish and Connor Leclerc added shutdown defensive play.
Dan Milks led Sam’s with eight points. Matt Scholer added four. Anna LeBlanc and Ray Nichols each chipped in a bucket. Nick Kaiser, Kora Martel, Madisyn Turcotte, Ben Webber and Hunter Young played strong all-around games.
Grade 5-6 Girls’ Travel
Auburn/Lewiston YMCA 38, Pittsfield 18: It was a total team effort for the 5th/6th grade “Y” girls as they knocked off Pittsfield. Grace Fontaine led the balanced attack with nine points. Taylor Depot played an excellent game and added seven points. Grace Beaudet (six), Jade Perry (four), Piper Norcross (three), Lauren Jutras (three), Sarah Sterling (two) and Teagan Galway (two) provided the remainder of the scoring. Courtney Richards added defense and energy for the winners.
Grade 3-4 Boys’ Travel
Auburn/Lewiston YMCA 29, York 27: Auburn/Lewiston YMCA won an exciting game against Yor. The YMCA team was led in scoring by Austin Brown with 16 points. Storm Jipson was next with six points, along with Giles Paradie with four points. Dan Milks also scored a basket for Auburn/Lewiston and Corey Wiers added one point on a foul shot. Justin Bulmer provided some great defense for the squad. Auburn/Lewiston improved to 2-0.
