LEWISTON — Instead of sitting around twiddling your thumbs waiting for the big game on the first Sunday in February, the Lewiston Education Fund is inviting all local bowlers – good, bad or never been – to join the organization for its premier fundraiser of the year: SuperBowling Saturday.

The seventh annual SuperBowling Saturday brings dozens of teams together for friendly competition at Sparetime Recreation on Saturday, Feb. 4. Teams of five bowlers will join other teams from around the area to see who can claim superiority all in the name of raising money for the Lewiston Education Fund.

The Lewiston Education Fund is a nonprofit organization created to fund projects and programs that expand educational opportunities, foster creativity and enhance academic excellence in Lewiston’s Public Schools. The fund provided $13,750 in its last round of grants to Lewiston schools.

“Support of such projects is instrumental in providing unique learning opportunities for children. Engaging students in hands-on projects in the sciences promotes real connections to curriculum,” said Amie Parker, president of LEF. “SuperBowling Saturday is the biggest fundraiser we hold to make these grants possible.”

There is a $125 fee per team to bowl three strings, and lane sponsorship is available for $100. For businesses interested in participating in multiple ways, a combo team/lane sponsorship is available for $200.

Martin’s Point Healthcare is the hospitality sponsor for the event, which will also feature light snacks, a raffle, prizes and more. Registration information and forms are available online at lewistoneducationfund.org/superbowling-saturday.
