OXFORD — The town will hold a public hearing Thursday for a mass gathering permit for Oxford Plains Speedway.

The hearing is set for 6:30 p.m., before the Board of Selectmen meeting. The permit will cover the 2012 Oxford Plains Speedway schedule and the Oxford 250, Town Manager Michael Chammings said Wednesday.

The board is set to make a decision on the mass gathering permits later in the meeting. The town requires a mass gathering permit for large gatherings of people, like the Oxford Plains events and the Nateva Festival.
