Garrett Crawford as Linus, left, Jeff Fairfield as Charlie Brown and Dustin Shepherd-Bussiere as Snoopy rehearse a scene in the Monmouth Community Players’ production of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.” The beloved story is told through a series of vignettes that mimic the four-panel format used by the original cartoon strip, “Peanuts,” by Charles M. Schulz. There are also longer passages vaguely reminiscent of Shakespearean soliloquies and musical interludes. The show, running Jan. 20-22 and 27-29, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at Cumston Hall. For tickets, $12, call 514-4929.
