Two men arrested after a Bowdoinham home invasion Saturday are being held in jail on bail.

Jorge Santiago, 30, and Miguel Rodriguez, 29, both of Lawrence, Mass., were arrested after 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say the men broke into the home of Rodney Skipper on Carding Machine Road at about that time, demanded money, drugs, and prescription drugs. One of the suspects held Skipper with a utility knife, Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Brett Strout said.

The pair fled into the woods near the house after taking money, marijuana, and prescription drugs, Strout said. Skipper went to a neighbor’s house and called police.

Sagadahoc deputies, Richmond police and the Maine Warden Service responded to the scene. Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Cpl. Ian Fisher discovered a set of fresh footprints in the snow, which he and Warden Robert Decker followed, finding and arresting the two men in the woods, Strout said.

“There was fresh snow on the ground, so they weren’t too hard to track,” Strout said.

Santiago and Rodriguez were taken to Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset and charged with robbery, terrorizing and criminal trespass.

Police have not yet recovered a weapon. The case remains under investigation, Strout said.
