STRATTON — The Dead River Area Historical Society’s pictorial 2012 calendars are now available.
The cover features Stratton High School Class of 1962 with Carol Targett, Gisle Morin and Newton Stevens.
January’s photograph is the village of Flagstaff’s 45-inch snow storm. February is Webster Therrien and pet deer. March features the New Flagstaff Chapel when it was being built. April shows the Stratton Brook Dam at Stratton.
May’s photo is of Pease Rent, Eustis. June features Mt. Bigelow, Stratton, with the village of Stratton in the foreground before tarred roads. July showcases the 12 Dube children, the family of Honore and Alma Dube. August features the 1949 forest fires near the Leroy Parsons house in Dead River.
September shows Cathedral Pines before tarred roads. October features Hotel Blanchard in Stratton, which is now Stratton Plaza. November’s photo is of Sibyl Myers posing with two deer. December features the Novelty Mill in Stratton in 1914.
The back page of the calendar features a paragraph about each photograph. They are for sale at Stratton at Pine’s Market, and Fotter’s Market.
