AUBURN — Drew Lupardo registered a hat trick Wednesday as Edward Little skated to a 3-1 victory over Brunswick in a Class A boys’ hockey matchup .

Lupardo gave the Red Eddies (7-5-1) a 1-0 advantage early in the second period with an assist from Adam Lebrun. Lupardo posted his second goal just four minutes later as EL made it a 2-0 contest.

Ryan Maciejeuski tallied for the Dragons (6-6-1) at the 8:24 mark of the third period. Lupardo finished the scoring at 11:26 when he found the net with an assist from Brandon Pelletier.

Alan Nelson made 31 saves for EL, a heads-up effort that helped seal the victory. Blake Alexander turned aside 22 shots between the pipes for Brunswick.

St. Dom’s 8, Gray-NG/Poland 0

AUBURN — Cody Rodrigue and Spencer Martin each netted a pair of goals Wednesday as St. Dom’s easily skated past Gray-New Gloucester/Poland 8-0 in a boys’ hockey tilt.

Dan Nadeau, Cam Hainey, Chris Finlay and Troy Haefele also tallied for the Saints (8-4) to complete the scoring. Grant Carrier made seven saves to notch the shutout.

Hebron 9, North Yarmouth 0

HEBRON — Guillaume Breton and Sam Blanchet netted two goals apiece Wednesday as Hebron skated to a 9-0 romp over North Yarmouth Academy.

Chris Rolli, Nick Owen, Mike Kelly, Trevor Buchas and Sam Cloutier also tallied for the Lumberjacks to complete the scoring.

Alex Bitsakis made six saves for Hebron to notch the shutout.

Boys’ basketball

Mtn. Valley 47, Hall-Dale 41

FARMINGDALE — After building a slim seven-point lead in the first half, Mountain Valley managed to hang on for a 47-41 win over Hall-Dale in MVC boys’ basketball action Wednesday.

Jacob Theriault led the powerhouse Falcons (11-5) with 21 points, while Ryan Nichols chipped in with nine.

The Bulldogs (10-6) were paced by Sam Shepherd and Zack Plummer with 10 points apiece.

Rangeley 51, Pine Tree 39

FREEPORT — Kyle Haley sparked a 16-7 run in the opening frame that sent Rangeley on to a 51-39 victory over Pine Tree Academy in a Class D boys’ basketball tilt Wednesday.

Haley led the Lakers (5-8) with 22 points, including eight in that key first stanza. Eric White also contributed with 17 points in what was essentially a two-man attack.

Pine Tree (2-11) was paced by Christian Alicea with a solid 18 point effort, while Zack Wilday chipped in with 14.

Girls’ basketball

Rangeley 55, Pine Tree 20

FREEPORT — Choosing to save their energy for the second half, Rangeley went on a 31-14 tear to post a 55-20 rout over Pine Tree Academy in EWC girls’ basketball action Wednesday.

Seve Deery-DeRaps led the Lakers (13-1) with 18 points, while Jenny Abbott chipped in with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Talented freshman Taylor Esty also contributed with eight points.

Beckie McGuire led Pine Tree (4-10) with 10 points, while Sandy Gentille added six.
