AUBURN — Irene L. Beauchesne, 74, of 20 Great Falls Plaza, died Saturday at Clover Manor, after a short illness.

She was born in Lewiston May 25, 1937, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Mercier Dupuis. She was educated in local schools and was employed 25 years at Hillcrest Poultry and retired from Falcon Shoe Co. after 20 years.

She was married in September 1985 to Alfred R. Beauchesne, who died in March 2000. They traveled together and enjoyed 15 years of marriage. During that time they shared many wonderful memories.

She was a very social person who greatly enjoyed the 10 years she resided at The Esplanade, where she made many friends. She was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed trips to Hollywood Slots, beano, dancing and various card games. She was a very generous person and was always available to help one of her many friends at The Esplanade, whether it was a visit, helping with chores or providing a pot of her famous soup.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at Sacred Heart Church and a longtime member of the former St. Mary’s Church and also the Lewiston Senior Citizens.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Judy Cyr and husband, Tim, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Amber, Megan, Samantha and Reese Cyr; a great-granddaughter, Adyson Cyr; and her many friends at The Esplanade, especially Louise Pelletier.
