NORWAY — The film “Freedom Riders” will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Fare Share Commons, 443 Main St. Discussion and refreshments will follow.
The 2010 film is the story of hundreds of young, mostly black, young people traveling on buses in 1961 through segregated southern states. Following the lead of Henry David Thoreau and Martin Luther King, they had resorted to non-violent civil disobedience to bring about justice.
