AUBURN — McKenzie Roy buried a pair of 10-foot baseline jumpers in the final minute, including the game-winner with 9.1 seconds to play, to lift St. Dom’s to a 31-30 victory over Wiscasset in an MVC girls’ basketball game Tuesday.

Trailing by as many as 19 points in the third quarter, the Saints (7-10) stormed back with full-court pressure that Wiscasset could not handle.

The Saints outscored the Wolverines 14-0 in the final quarter.

Olivia Cluff led the Saints’ balanced attack with eight points, while Roy and Mary Caron scored six apiece.

Heidi Pinkham and Kayla Connors were Wiscasset’s top scorers with 10 points each.

EL 52, Oxford Hills 32

PARIS — Tianna Harriman and Kory Norcross each scored 11 points and Edward Little took an lopsided 30-11 lead at halftime as the Red Eddies rolled over Oxford Hills, 52-32, in a girls’ basketball game Tuesday night.

The Red Eddies (14-3) held the Vikings (8-9) to single-digit scoring for three quarters. EL erupted for 16 points in the second quarter and coasted the rest of the way.

The Vikings’ Abbie Eastman and Alex Rowe each scored 10 points.

Greely 44, Gray-NG 33

GRAY — Senior shooting guard Caroline Hamilton tossed a team-high nine points to lead Greely to a 44-33 triumph over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC girls’ basketball.

The Patriots (9-8) got to within five points in the third quarter. But, Hamilton executed two of her three field goals from beyond the arc to bump it back to 11 points for the Rangers (14-3).

The Greely offense was also guided by Jacklyn Storey and Ashley Storey, who had eight points each.

Junior point guard Sammie Wilkins paced the Gray-New Gloucester with nine points.

Mt. Ararat 51, Lewiston 43

TOPSHAM — Mt. Ararat opened an 18-5 lead after one quarter and rolled to a 51-43 victory over Lewiston.

The Eagles led at the quarter breaks 18-5, 29-17 and 44-27.

The Blue Devils (2-15) made it close in the fourth quarter with a 16-7 spurt in the final eight minutes.

Leah Hitchcock scored a game-high 14 points to lead Mt. Ararat (11-6). Kirsty Willey and Mallory Nelson chipped in with 10 points apiece.

Jenessa Talarico and Brie Wilson led Lewiston with nine points each.

Rangeley 45, Kents Hill 41

KENTS HILL — Rangley built a 10-point advantage in the first half and hung on to post a 45-41 win over Kents Hill to close out its 2012 regular season Tuesday.

Talented freshman Taylor Esty led the Lakers (16-2) with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Emily Carrier chipped in with 12 points, five assists and five steals. Chantal Carrier also contributed with 10 points in a well-balanced attack.

Kents Hill was paced by Marissa Tario with 11 points, while Emma Curnin tallied 10 and Heather Larabee added eight points.

Richmond 51,

Buckfield 17

BUCKFIELD — As the 2012 EWC girls’ basketball season drew to a close, Richmond cruised to a 51-17 rout over Buckfield without much fanfare.

Jamie Plummer led the Bobcats (16-2) with a game-high 21 points, 10 of which came during a 20-6 run in the second stanza. Danica Murlee also contributed with 12 points in an effective two-player attack.

The Bucks (4-14) were paced by Caitlin Henderson with a solid 10-point effort, while Dakota Warren chipped in with three.

Messalonskee 55,

Mt. Blue 45

OAKLAND — After building a slim six-point lead in the first quarter, Messalonskee hung on to post a 55-45 late-season win over Mt. Blue in KVAC girls’ action Tuesday.

Mary Badeen led the Eagles (13-4) with a game-high 21 points, while Meghan Pelletier chipped in with 19.

The Cougars (11-6) were led by Miranda Nicely with 18 points, while Gabby Foy chipped in with 12.

Spruce Mountain 57, Carrabec 28

JAY — After a slow start, Spruce Mountain opened things up with a 16-4 run in the second quarter and raced away to post a 57-28 victory over Carrabec.

Kathryn Ventrella led the Phoenix (16-1) with 16 points, while Kailee Newcomb chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds. Alexi Deering also contributed with 10 rebounds in a well-balanced effort.

The Cobras (4-13) were led by Emma Pluntke with 14 points, while Jill Valencourt added five.

Leavitt 91, Morse 53

TURNER — Senior forward Adrianna Newton jammed 27 points as Leavitt posted 20-plus points in each quarter for a 91-53 launching of Morse in KVAC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Hornets (15-2) put 28 points on the board in each of the first two quarters for a 56-26 halftime lead. Kristen Anderson also had a huge scoring effort with 24 points, including three 3-pointers along the way.

The Shipbuilders fell victim to the quickness of their opponent from start to finish, staying within a close range of scoring in each frame.

Tori Field scored a team-high 19 pionts on seven field goals, including three from beyond the arc, and two free throws. Katie Hendrickson posted four three’s for 12.
