TURNER — The Maine Warden Service is seeking help from the public in its search for a Dixfield sledder who left his home Friday on a snowmobile.

Joey Mann, 46, of Meese Road, left home at 11 a.m. Friday, Warden Lt. Adam Gormely said Saturday.

Mann had planned to arrive at Sabattus Pond in Wales to meet his brother and spend the night, Gormely said.

Mann was last seen at 6:30 p.m. Friday on Hideaway Lane in Greene, seeking directions. He “appeared confused,” Gormely said.

Mann’s snowmobile is a 2010 yellow Ski-Doo Renegade. He was wearing a gray or silver helmet with white striping and decorations on it and a black snowmobile suit and was carrying a brown backpack, Gormely said.

Anyone who has seen a snowmobiler in the Sabattus-Lewiston-Turner to Dixfield area meeting this description, or who knows where Joey Mann might be, is asked to call Maine State Police in Gray at 657-3030.

Several game wardens and a pilot in a fixed-wing aircraft were sent to the area to search and gather information, Gormely said.
