WILTON — The state will not prosecute a gross sexual assault charge lodged against a Massachusetts man on Jan. 13, Assistant District Attorney Andrew Robinson said Monday.
Wilton police arrested William M. LeGrand, 44, of Lynfield on a warrant. He was accused of sexually assaulting a woman about a year ago after the woman went to police in late 2011, police Chief Heidi Wilcox said in January.
“After reviewing all of the evidence provided in the police report, the District Attorney’s Office was not convinced it could prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” Robinson said.
