NORWAY — The Norway-Paris Fish & Game Association will host the annual fishing derby on Feb. 25 and 26. The derby is open to fish from all area lakes. The fish must be registered and weighed at the Little Red School House on Norway Lake, Route 118, from sunrise to sunset.

Prizes will be given for the largest bass, togue, pike, salmon, pickerel, brown trout/splake and rainbow trout. Derby tickets are $1 and also enter you into a drawing for many prizes including a L.L. Bean Fly Rod Kit donated by L.L. Bean and Oxford 250 tickets donated by Oxford Plains Speedway.

One aim of the club is to encourage youth participation in fishing. Anyone 12 and under who brings in a fish will receive a prize. Juniors (12 and under) receive trophies for the largest fish in all categories.

The proceeds of the derby are used to send several area youths to the University of Maine 4-H Camp & Learning Center in Bryant Pond. All are welcome to stop in at the Little Red School House for fish stories, hamburgers, hot dogs and many homemade goodies throughout the day. Tickets are on sale at local sport shops and bait dealers. For tickets or more information, call Fern at 739-6070.
