In celebration of St. Patrick, Danu, one of the leading traditional Irish ensembles of today, will perform Thursday, March 15, at Portland’s Merrill Auditorium. The group plays a mix of ancient Celtic music and new repertoire at its trademark high-energy concerts. Danu’s vocalists and musicians, who play flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion and bouzouki, have for more than a decade traveled the globe playing thousands of stages, receiving awards and recording seven albums. The concert, presented by Portland Ovations, will be at 7:30 p.m. For tickets, $32 to $36, call PortTix at 842-0800, visit the box office at Merrill Auditorium or log on to www.portlandovations.org.
