The second season of Investigation Discovery Channel’s “Sins & Secrets” program, scheduled to air this week, will feature a look at the 2006 quadruple murder in Newry.

The piece, focused on the brutal deaths of Black Bear Inn owner Julie Bullard, her guest, James Whitehurst, her daughter Selby Bullard and Selby’s friend Cynthia Beatson, features interviews with local investigators and friends and family of the victims. The piece also features Sun Journal Staff Writer Terry Karkos, one of several Sun Journal reporters who covered the crime and ensuing trial.

Christian Nielson of Newry, who had been renting a room at the Black Bear Inn at the times of the murders in September 2006, was convicted of the crime in 2007 and sentenced to life in prison.

According to the program listing for Investigation Discovery Channel, the Newry episode will air on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 9 p.m.
